Based in the heart of Boroughbridge, Dolly’s Vegan Bakery was born from a love of kindness, creativity, and a little bit of country sparkle. We’re a husband-and-wife team who were simply sick of missing out on the kind of indulgent treats everyone else could enjoy, so we decided to make our own!
Laura, the baker behind the magic, named the business after her lifelong idol, Dolly Parton. (Fun fact: she was even a Dolly tribute artist once!) When she’s not in the kitchen, Laura works in senior HR management, but baking has always been her way to combine compassion with creativity. A vegan for ethical reasons, Laura started experimenting with recipes to make delicious, plant-based bakes that don’t compromise on taste.
Her husband Sam, who’s vegan for health reasons as he manages Crohn’s disease, is the business’s right-hand man. A senior commercial manager by day, he keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes, from stalls to spreadsheets!
Married since 2021, Laura and Sam live with their two beloved miniature dachshunds, Percy and Henry, who keep them company during late-night baking sessions and taste-testing (well, almost).
At Dolly’s Vegan Bakery, every cookie, brownie, and cupcake is baked with heart, humour, and a sprinkle of Dolly-inspired joy, proving that vegan bakes really can taste better than the rest!
